Join me for Stampin' Up! Day of Service - September 16

STAMPIN’ UP! DAY OF SERVICE IS COMING SOON!

From Stampin' Up! "Our Stampin’ Up! Day of Service will be held on Thursday, 16 September. This year, we’ll be focusing on heart health.

We are so excited to invite all to join us in making a difference! There are many different ways to participate and benefit your local communities."

"We invite you to

-    support local causes you’re passionate about, or

-    focus on heart health education, resources, and support

-     Participate in blood donation, CPR training, donating needed items to a         local hospital

-    Engage your community in a heart-healthy wellness activity

-    Donate or sende encouraging cards to healthcare workers

Please share your Stampin’ Up! Day of Service experiences using #SUDifferenceMaker on Facebook and Instagram."

Card makers don't need an invitation to make cards and help cheer up the world, do we?

We have plenty of reasons right now to thank those who serve us, in many ways, medical or civil jobs.  Let's show them their work makes a difference in our daily lives!

The Statement of Heart for Stampin' Up! in part is "making a difference" by helping others to enjoy their creativity and worthwhile accomplishments.

SEPTEMBER 16 - Stampin' Up! Day of Service 2021.  Join me in sending, giving, speaking, sharing your heart to those who serve our communities!

Thanks for stopping by. Be Blessed!  sb

#Pick 6 and Simple Card Layouts

#PICK 6! a Stampin' Up! Pattern
Pick 6 pieces of 6x6 inch double sided paper. Designer Series Paper - DSP - works well for this as all the colors are coordinated with cardstock, ink, markers, ribbons and embellishments.

Cut six pieces of DSP exactly like this pattern. Using each of the sections, 1-6, combine the pieces from all six pieces to make approximately 14 cards. Embellish or leave simply made.

This card uses pattern #3. It looks like a mini quilt square, and is made with 2 squares attached to each other by cutting a slit half way into the center on each. Find the center/cutting point by folding to a point.

Then cut each in at 1 3/4" (half of each 2 1/2" square). Slide the squares together at the slits. Fold opposite quarters in half, revealing the print on the other side, and rearrange until you're happy with how they look.  This paper is white on one side. Glue the folded pieces down on both sides and trim, if necessary, so the square is even.

Here is a closer look at finding the center and cutting half way in, then folding over the pieces. I used a bright color so it would be easier to see the slit and folds.

This is where flipping the pieces over and trying the other sides together matters. Not all patterned papers look good together, or maybe you don't want white as your reverse side.

Use a tacky glue to adhere both front and back, folded pieces together.

Place on the front of your card, layering with a solid color if you wish. (not shown)

This next simple card layout uses a 4x6 piece of DSP and a contrasting strip of paper. Add a sentiment and embellish with ribbon.

Use a 2x3 piece of DSP in center. Embellish or add a sentiment or layer with vellum to mute the colors.

Color gingham ribbon with a coordinated marker. I find alcohol markers work the best because they dry quickly.  Use mini glue dots or a fine tip ended glue to fasten. Add a flower and sentiment and your greeting is ready to send and share.
Enjoy making these simple card layouts. Then send them along their way to brighten someone's day!

All of these products can be found at my online store, www.susanboback.stampinup.net.  Send me an email if you are a first time customer, July/August of 2021, so I can thank you with a discount.

I'd love to know if you're using the ideas and patterns found here at Serenitea-sb.  Post your card in the comment.

Thanks for stopping by! Be blessed! sb

Join Stampin' Up & get $150 products for $99 May 4 - May 31

Love paper crafting?

Love what you do?

Want to share it with others?

Want to make a difference in the world?

To quote Stampin' Up's CEO: "Listen to understand. Relect back.  (This) opens the door to meaningful conversation. Connect through cardmaking..... and even with differences. A hand-written note is power.  Find someone who is lonely - be a friend - ask yourself, who can I be a friend to today? Stampin' Up is a natural way of friendship."

"A card is a hug with a fold in the middle."

Now is a great time to join Stampin' Up!  For the month of May, 2021, when you buy the starter kit for $99, you get $150 worth of any product in the current catalog!   Plus you get business tools and information to be an Independent Demonstrator if you wish - or continue on to be a hobbyist.

Whatever your choice, take a walk through the new catalog, which will debut world-wide on May 4, 2021, look at the new "In Colors", and view the new Suites such as Beauty of the Earth, In the Wild, and more!  Make sure to check out the bundles of stamps and coordinating dies, with a 10% discount bundled in one purchase.  And don't forget to check out the new DSP - Designer Series Paper!

There's no guessing at which embellishments to put with which papers, cardstocks, inks, or markers because the designers at Stampin' Up have done all the planning on that to coordinate the most beautiful products.  While several of the favorite stamp sets have been carried over to this new catalog, many new themes and stamp sets will debut.

So while you're thinking about your goals - upgrade your equipment, inks or cardstock. Or maybe you're a lover of the Designer Series Paper (where you can get as many as 12 cards out of just one 12x12 piece) like I am and the matching ribbons and markers.  If you love making cards in a group, consider having a class to share the new products and ideas. Being a demonstrator is a fun way to start.

If you love what you do, want to share that fun with friends, and want to make a difference in the world; if connecting with others, and reaching out to those who need a friend; if these are your values, then consider joining the Stampin' Up community!   Now is a great time to do just that!

Who would like to get a hug in the mail today?
